JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.
  • Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.
  • Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.
  • Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
  • Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.
  • Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.
  • Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, “Preferred Method Standard”.
  • Identify and report slot and put-away problems.
  • Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.
  • Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker; ability to lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements.
  • Ability to operate Voice to Pick System or Radio Frequency (RF) system.

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous knowledge of SAP
  • One year warehouse experience and previous forklift certification.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Job is performed in a warehouse/operations environment.
  • Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment, extreme cold or heat in freezer/cooler warehouse environments including a temperature of zero degrees.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, containing toxic or caustic chemicals, low voltage electrical equipment, and vibration.
    The noise level in the work environment usually is loud.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Must have the ability to work a varied schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.
  • Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.
  • The position does not require travel.
