Fund Accountant
Position Overview
The opportunity is within the Fund Controller team that supports the European Credit Business. The Credit business has seen significant growth and this role will be supporting established and newly launched products. This is a varied role and key to the successful support of the Finance team to the Business. The person should be enthusiastic, hard working and willing to take on a challenge.
This role involves working closely with several departments within Apollo including; investment and portfolio management team, valuation and pricing, legal, tax and client and product solutions to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely information.
Primary Responsibilities:
Monthly and quarterly reporting for closed-ended and open-ended funds (working with the extended Finance and Operations team)
Maintenance and review of full accounting records on the Apollo systems (Investran, VPM) including reconciliation to administrator records
Maintenance of information in the investor and fund performance portal
Calculation of management fees and carried interest
Assisting in the quarterly valuation process
Responding to Investor queries
Fund liquidity, budgeting and expense analysis
Review, allocation and approval of invoices and expenses
Oversight of external auditors and fund administrators
Support for new fund and product launches
Working with Apollo colleagues across New York, India and London
Ad hoc projects
Qualifications & Experience
4 - 7 years of experience
Qualified accountant
Previous fund finance or fund administration experience
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills
Diligent, collaborative team player
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Forward-thinking and creative, with high ethical standards
Experience using AI tools and technology to drive process improvement
Proven ability to take initiative
