Position Overview

The Senior Accountant II – Fixed Assets plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the company’s asset management processes. This position combines strong analytical and technical accounting expertise with process improvement and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of attention to detail and experience managing large volumes of data in a fast-paced environment.

This role will serve as the team’s subject matter expert for Oracle Fixed Assets and will help drive operational efficiencies by automating manual processes and identifying opportunities for streamlining and optimization. Responsibilities include reviewing fixed asset transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, partnering with cross-functional teams to support capitalization requirements, and validating asset additions, disposals, and transfers.

The Senior Accountant II will also prepare and present asset-related reporting for audits and internal reviews, while supporting the development of team members through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

A Day in the Life

  • Leverage advanced Oracle Fixed Assets EBS knowledge to drive the improvement of team efficiency by automating existing processes and identifying opportunities for streamlining and optimization.  This includes but is not limited to best practices for additions, transfers and disposal of assets, accelerated depreciation methods, accurate forecasting of date placed in service and enhanced Oracle reporting capabilities.
  • Review fixed assets additions report for data integrity, cost adjust assets as appropriate and ensure that assets are classified into the correct categories for depreciation and tax regulation purposes. Perform review of closed stores report in Lucernex and timely disposal of non-serviceable assets.
  • Perform monthly close and analysis for fixed assets accounting, including budget vs. actual analysis for depreciation expense.   Develop schedules and reports to investigate variances and analyze drivers. Ensure data integrity. Review work papers and roll forwards, supporting schedules and documentation to support month end close.
  • Review journal entries and accruals from functional areas for accuracy and compliance with fixed assets policy. Provide fixed assets accounting support and analysis to internal business partners while advising them on capitalization policy. Ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly and in compliance with company policy. Coordinate with functional areas to reduce coding errors and improve timelines of data received.
  • Interface Fixed Assets transactions from Accounts Payable (AP) to Project Accounting (PA) and perform in depth analysis by reconciling AP report to PA report; independently address all variances by collaborating with the project accounting team and other pyramid groups.
  • Respond to ad-hoc analyses and reporting requests from internal business partners as well as internal and external auditors by providing timely support. Mentor coworkers and accountants within the department

You'll Come With

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting  
  • 5+ Years of experience required
  • Advanced proficiency with Oracle Fixed Assets EBS required
  • Oracle Financials EBS (General Ledger, Projects, Accounts Payable) knowledge preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organization skills
  • Ability to manage and properly prioritize multiple objectives simultaneously
  • Skilled at financial analysis, recognizing trends and communicating results
  • Understanding of and adherence to financial controls procedures
  • Strong knowledge of accounting process, procedures, and financial statements
  • Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles and terminology

Individual pay decisions will be based on a variety of factors, such as but not limited to, qualifications, education, job-related skills, relevant experience, and geographic location.

Compensation Range: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00
