Thermo Fisher Proteomics Sciences (PSX) i Uppsala söker en cost accountant med ansvar för produktkalkylering och lagervärdering.

Som Cost Accountant inom PSX ansvarar du för att genomföra månatliga bokslutsaktiviteter kopplade till produktionsredovisning för PSX:s produktionsenheter och distributionscenter. Du bidrar till att säkerställa korrekt lagerredovisning, väl fungerande produktkalkylering, tidsenliga kontoavstämningar samt efterlevnad av företagets redovisningsprinciper. Rollen innefattar även ansvar för att upprätthålla integriteten i lagerrelaterade balansposter, stödja processer för inkuransavdrag samt medverka i och följa upp inventeringar för att säkerställa hög kvalitet och noggrannhet i lagervärdering samt rapportering.

What You Will Do

As a Cost Accountant supporting PSX, you will be responsible for performing month-end close activities related to production accounting across PSX manufacturing sites and distribution centers. You will help ensure accurate inventory accounting, timely account reconciliations, and compliance with corporate accounting policies and global financial standards while maintaining the integrity of inventory-related financial balances.

In this role, you will partner closely with Operations Finance, Controllership, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support business initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement efforts. You will support the maintenance of standard costing data, including participation in annual cost roll activities and ongoing cost updates, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of costing information within ERP systems.

You will perform analysis related to inventory valuation, standard costing, and excess and obsolete inventory, working with key stakeholders to understand financial impacts and support decision-making. In addition, you will assist with the preparation and review of inventory-related reporting and provide accounting support for manufacturing sites and distribution centers.

You will support cycle count programs and physical inventory activities by partnering with site teams to investigate inventory discrepancies, improve inventory accuracy, and strengthen internal controls. You will also participate in the annual cost roll process, validating cost inputs and assisting in the implementation of updated standards.

As part of the monthly close process, you will prepare inventory account reconciliations, analyze inventory and manufacturing variances, and identify opportunities to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency. You will investigate system- and process-related issues affecting inventory and costing and collaborate with business partners to implement corrective actions.

You will support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation, responding to audit requests, and helping ensure compliance with SOX and company control requirements. Through strong analytical skills and cross-functional collaboration, you will contribute to improved inventory controls, cost transparency, and operational excellence across PSX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and capable inventory and costing support for the 2 PSX plants in Sweden.
  • Perform month-end close activities, inventory accounting, and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
  • Support standard costing processes, including cost roll activities, cost maintenance, and analysis of inventory, manufacturing variances, and excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Partner with Operations Finance, Supply Chain, Controllership, and Operations teams to provide financial analysis and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Support cycle count programs, physical inventory processes, and inventory control activities by investigating discrepancies and improving inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, SOX compliance, and the resolution of inventory and costing-related system or process issues to maintain strong financial controls.

How You Will Get Here

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field is required

Experience

  • 3-5 years of cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience, preferably within a global environment.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, internal controls, SOX controls, variance analysis, external and internal audits, and cross-functional collaboration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles and experience working with ERP systems and related financial tools.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 is a strong preference
  • Detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • Communicate effectively with both finance and operational partners and take ownership for driving accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
