JOB DESCRIPTION – ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Division: Ticketmaster Australia

Line Manager: Financial Manager - Reporting & Compliance

Contract Terms: 12-month fixed term, 38 hours a week

THE TEAM

Working closely with a small team in the Reporting Finance department whom are responsible for the reporting and management of the organisation and its subsidiaries financial matters. The team on a day to day basis assist various stakeholders in their decision making from the financial reports and financial data insights produced.  This position will work cooperatively as part of the broader Finance team. The role also requires liaison and teamwork with other colleagues in the Finance Department and across the company to ensure individual performance objectives and key tasks are met.

THE JOB

The overall objective of the role is to assist the finance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the Ticketmaster Group of Companies financial information to the various stakeholders, including International Corporate, Local Management, Staff, Suppliers and Clients.  The role will perform the day to day reconciliations and reporting to the business to ensure the stakeholders are informed of the organisations ongoing performance. 


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Cash Management

  • Daily Bank Reconciliations for Ticketmaster & Moshtix Australia & New Zealand accounts for all platforms

  • Follow up and Timely clearance of outstanding items.

  • Report on required cash flow for Corp

  • Prepare end of month cash transfer for AUNZ entities

Financial Reporting

  • Daily sales journals

  • Month end preparation and reporting

  • Indirect Expense Accruals EOM

  • Employee Expense Accruals EOM

  • Intercompany Accounting Reconciliations

  • General Ledger Reconciliations

  • Manage Ticket Stock/Float declarations

  • Final bank reconciliation for all AUNZ entities

Capex & Fixed Asset Register

  • Purchase Order, Capex & Opex Tracking

  • Working with IT to identify any outstanding variances and chase up any late supplier invoices

  • Reporting spend and forecasting to International Corporate Offices

Accounts Payable (Support)

  • Concur (Accounting Reviewer role)

  • Concur reporting (flag recharges, reclasses, errors, monthly reporting spend etc)

  • Weekly supplier payment runs (Support)

  • Weekly employee expense payment runs (Support)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

Reconciliations

  • Take ownership and independently analyze the reconciliation tasks, maintain a balanced ledger on a daily basis, ensure any outstanding items are cleared promptly and accurately accounted for and have a sound understanding of each ledger account.

Reporting

  • Meeting Deadlines and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.  Minimizing errors and double checking work.

Managing deadlines

  • Managing daily, weekly & monthly reporting & processing deadlines.  Ability to prioritise when work is due.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience 

  • Accounting Qualifications – Graduated with Bachelor of Accounting degree

  • Good Communication Skills, Written and Verbal

  • Microsoft Excel Intermediate

  • Any enterprise accounting system
