Job Summary:

As an Accounting Manager within our Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAAS) team, you will play a critical leadership role specializing in supporting construction industry clients with complex, project-based accounting needs. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with clients in a collaborative, office-based environment, helping to strengthen relationships and expand our growing construction niche. You will oversee full-cycle accounting operations, deliver strategic financial insight tailored to contractors and developers, and contribute to business development efforts, while leading and mentoring a high-performing team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support construction clients in maintaining accurate, project-based accounting, including managing staff responsible for transaction processing, account reconciliations, financial clean-up, and job cost reporting.
  • Review and analyze financial statements, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition to ensure accuracy and alignment with industry standards.
  • Advise clients on accounting and operational challenges specific to the construction industry, including job costing, cash flow management, and project profitability.
  • Partner closely with clients in an in-office, collaborative environment to build relationships and identify opportunities to expand services within the growing construction niche.
  • Stay current on construction accounting trends, GAAP guidance, and industry best practices to proactively support client needs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performing, team-oriented environment.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality deliverables while consistently exceeding client expectations.
  • Support business development efforts, including contributing to proposals, client presentations, and networking activities to grow the CAAS construction practice.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience in public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting environments
  • 8+ years of experience in industry accounting or public accounting consulting
  • Construction Industry experience required
  • Experience with Computerease, Netsuite, Sage Intacct, and/or Foundation. 
  • Experience in leading a team and owning client relationships
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
