This role sits at the center of technical accounting, financial reporting, and strategic finance operations within a fast-paced, PE-backed software environment.
You will act as the key subject matter expert on complex U.S. GAAP topics, translating accounting standards into clear, actionable financial insights for leadership.
The position combines deep technical accounting expertise with hands-on ownership of reporting, cash forecasting, and balance sheet integrity.
You will play a critical role in shaping monthly financial narratives, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting executive decision-making.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help strengthen financial processes, system controls, and forecasting accuracy.

Accountabilities:
- Lead technical accounting research and documentation across complex U.S. GAAP areas, including leases (ASC 842), revenue and software costs (ASC 985-20), goodwill, debt, equity, and purchase accounting.
- Own key balance sheet accounting areas, ensuring accuracy in leases, intangibles, equity, debt, and internally developed software capitalization in partnership with engineering and product teams.
- Build and maintain a bi-monthly cash forecasting model for senior leadership, leveraging historical data, operational inputs, and business trends.
- Coordinate monthly financial reporting packages, including consolidated statements, departmental commentary, and cash flow statement preparation.
- Oversee cash reconciliation processes by validating account balances and ensuring completeness and accuracy across multiple systems and teams.
- Serve as NetSuite accounting administrator, managing user access, system controls, and compliance with ITGC requirements.
- Drive process improvements by designing scalable accounting workflows and applying strong technical judgment and authoritative guidance.
Requirements:
- CPA certification required with 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and industry roles.
- Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex accounting guidance to real-world scenarios.
- Experience preparing technical accounting memos, financial statements, cash flow reporting, and/or complex consolidations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with strong preference for NetSuite.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills with strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset with proven ability to work cross-functionally across finance, engineering, and operational teams.
