Our team within Mastercard – Billing Operations – is seeking a Business Analyst II to support the automation of Manual Billing activities through data preparation and workflow development using Alteryx or similar data tools. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical foundation and interest in data automation, ETL, and operational processes, who wants to grow hands on experience in a billing and finance environment.
The Analyst will work closely with experienced analysts, automation leads, and business partners to help convert manual, spreadsheet driven billing activities into standardized, repeatable workflows while maintaining strong data quality and controls.
Role & Responsibilities
• Assist in building, updating, and running automated workflows used to transform input data into billing ready outputs.
• Support data preparation tasks such as filtering, aggregating, joining datasets, renaming fields, and validating outputs against templates.
• Troubleshoot basic workflow issues (e.g., missing fields, format mismatches, input/output errors) with guidance from senior team members.
• Support manual billing cycles by preparing data files, running approved workflows, and validating results prior to submission.
• Help document workflow logic, inputs, outputs, and manual steps using standard templates and SOPs.
• Perform data checks and reconciliations to ensure billing inputs and outputs are accurate and complete.
• Follow established controls, review steps, and documentation standards to support auditability.
• Work with billing analysts, automation SMEs, and business partners to understand data requirements and billing logic.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Be able to perform complex issue resolution.
• Foundational experience or coursework in data analysis, automation, or ETL (academic, internship, or early professional experience).
• Exposure to Alteryx, SQL, Python, Excel, or similar data tools (hands on experience preferred, not expert level).
• Willingness to learn and follow documented standards and workflows.
• Have experience executing controls and assessing their effectiveness.
