Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support reinsurance underwriters across Europe on all aspects of assessing, rating, and processing new and renewal business.
Analyze reinsurance submissions from clients and accurately input relevant data into systems.
Calculate and book premiums in underwriting systems, issue policy documentation, and manage processing of endorsements.
Support risk evaluation and pricing through data analysis, modeling, and risk rating tools.
Assist with maintain and building relationships with clients and brokers, providing exceptional service and ensuring clear communication.
Support to monitor market trends and developments to align underwriting strategies with emerging risks and opportunities.
Assist with portfolio analysis and reporting to ensure alignment with organizational risk appetite and performance targets.
Participate in internal training sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices and regional regulations.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience in the European or international reinsurance or insurance industry.
Prior experience of 3-4 years in underwriting (preferably insurance or reinsurance) is strongly preferred, though experience in claims or brokerage is also acceptable.
Completion of relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, CII, or equivalent) is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or other European languages is a strong asset.
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to take initiative and learn from feedback.
Familiarity with reinsurance principles, regulatory environments, and market dynamics in Europe is a strong plus.
Comfortable working with technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ambition to progress within the organization, with a desire to take on increasingly complex underwriting responsibilities.
