Business Development Manager (Civil)

Location: Mobile Worker with travel across the UK, some flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands

Salary: £47,600 - £61,000

Leidos is currently seeking a Business Development Manager aligned to our Civil Division.

You will work with a team of BD professionals and report to the Business Development Lead for Civil.

As part of the Leidos Growth Team, the successful candidate will be capable of planning and leading new business campaigns in the Civil Division.

Operating effectively within a multi-functional team, you will be an effective leader and communicator and have a background in/understanding of UK Government, current strategy and the challenges and pressures they are dealing with.

The role you will play:

  • Plan and lead Business Development (BD) activities that will contribute to our annual award targets in this strategic and fast-growing area of the UK business.
  • Responsible for the development and management of a pipeline of opportunities to support the next 2-5 years business growth ambition, aligned to the UK strategy.
  • You will develop and maintain relationships with Civil clients positioning Leidos as a potential strategic supplier.
  • You will guide the Leidos bid teams in their pursuit and shaping of the business development campaign to propose differentiated client propositions.
  • Identify and qualify the opportunities that best match Leidos strengths and provide optimum outcomes for the client and us.
  • You will execute significant new business campaigns in the UK Civil market.
  • Operate effectively within a multi-functional team where you will be an effective leader and communicator.
  • You will contribute to Leidos bid teams by providing the voice of the client.
  • You will work with our marketing team to develop innovative campaigns to bring Leidos global capabilities to the UK market.  

What does Leidos need from me?

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • A track record of successfully driving business growth year on year and hitting targets
  • Proven experience of collaboratively creating compelling winning bids with Partners
  • Knowledge of Government business development, contract awards, current procurement trends and customer buying behaviours.
  • Excellent inter-personal, presentation and verbal skills and an experienced negotiator
  • Tenacity and energy to maintain the momentum of multiple and concurrent campaigns across the Division;
  • Experience being a team leader, adept at developing, coaching and motivating a bid team to success
  • Proven ability to qualify opportunities that are a good fit for the business
  • Client and Industry stakeholder engagement essential.
  • Expertise in motivating and mentoring agile teams to grow and change the business.

Clearance Requirements: Successful applicants will either need to currently hold or be willing to hold UK Security Clearances

Pay Range:

£47,600.00-£61,000.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
