Catalyst Business Development
Responsibilities include the research and analysis of business opportunities, consistent with the organization's long range and strategic plans. Evaluates projects through financial feasibility studies, market research, and planning. May assist with special studies in areas such as operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, or cost containment. Under general direction, responsible for developing opportunities to grow specific and integrated services business and establishes and maintains client contacts and coordinates meetings between company technical personnel and client representative for purpose of developing the details of the sale and serving as a liaison with counterparts on cross-business unit opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Business Development for Catalyst globally
- Manage customer relationships and business development activities to meet sales, market share and profitability targets in the region
- Work with catalyst developers to develop, position and sell catalyst and develop supply chain for KBR catalyst including Catalyst related services.
- Manage relationships with catalyst manufacturing partners.
- Responsible for the following activities :
- Implement key strategic activities aimed at appropriately positioning KBR Catalyst products which will include lifetime engagement for catalyst services and to develop, establish and growth the Catalyst business
- Identify new business opportunities and the enhancement of existing customer relationships, to improve market share and profitability.
- Establish appropriate collection, analysis and interpretation of data and information as it relates to competitive analysis, market intelligence, trends and benchmarking activities
- Evaluate requests for proposal, prepare and present techno commercial packages to develop and improve new and existing customer relationships and support regional sales with respect to catalyst sales
- Work with KBR technology Licensing technical and operational team to assist with technical troubleshooting, using partners for consultation and implementing modeling scenarios and capabilities.
- Maintain relationships with licensees, customers, potential clients, engineering companies, and internal and external business associates to maintain existing and foster new business activities. This involves periodic visits to licensee and customer plants, head offices, and other technical facilities.
- Work with outside organizations including, licensees, producers, engineering, and catalyst companies to enhance commercial effectiveness and results
Most license related activities will remain with existing team, but we can leave this in as they will still be doing some of it.
Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- Other degrees may be considered if the candidate has a strong background in catalyst-related work
- Overall 5–10 years of experience in the ammonia, refining, or petrochemical industry
- Within this, 5–10 years of experience specifically in the catalyst business
- Proven experience in catalyst sales and business development
- Exposure to Ammonia, Refining, and Petrochemical sectors
- Hands-on involvement in Account management, Technology interface, Catalyst services
- Ability to effectively align and collaborate with Internal licensing groups, External partners, Customers, their project stakeholders
- Strong focus on driving and growing business opportunities in the catalyst and related industries
