Your New Role
The APAC Commercial Strategy, Partnerships & Insights team is a high-impact, integrated function that supports strategic decision-making, commercial growth, and business development across the region. The team drives regional strategic planning, analysis and execution of key strategic partnerships, working cross-functionally with local and global streaming teams. The team also supports the regional President and local GMs across broader priority business projects and revenue initiatives.
The role of Manager, Commercial Strategy & Partnerships will provide strategic and analytical support to the regional, functional, and local leadership teams on partnerships and projects aimed at driving sustainable revenue growth.
Reporting to the Senior Director, APAC Commercial Strategy & Partnerships, you will play a key role across a range of initiatives, with a focus towards expanding HBO Max across APAC. The Manager will also serve as a key day-to-day contact for the regional/global Streaming and M&A Corporate Development functions.
What You’ll Do
Commercial Partnerships: Support the development and implementation of new distribution partnerships. Actively participate in building, negotiating, and implementing deal strategies, including the preparation of pitch materials and drafting contracts.
M&A Partnerships: Identify and evaluate potential M&A targets and deal structures, in partnership with the global Corporate Development function.
Business Planning: Develop strategic, financial, and go-to-market plans, working closely with internal stakeholders such as the regional Streaming lead, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Content.
Strategic Analysis: Perform detailed qualitative and quantitative research and analysis to support strategic partnerships and growth initiatives. Contribute strategic thinking on projects and challenge the status quo.
Commercial Framework: Build and maintain an AI-enabled strategic partnerships pipeline, assessment framework and approval process, to support an efficient, high-value partnership function.
Execution: Support the delivery and optimization of key wholesale partnerships, acting as a bridge between the deal / sales teams and other internal functions (e.g., Product/Tech). Manage other cross-functional projects where required, working closely with stakeholders across the company.
Streaming Projects: Support the global Streaming function on relevant growth initiatives where required (e.g, market expansion).
Broader Ecosystem Growth: Partner with local GMs and other regional/global teams on revenue growth opportunities beyond commercial partnerships and streaming.
Presentations: Write and present well-argued and structured presentations to senior management, translating complex business stories and analysis into an easy-to-understand narrative.
Knowledge and Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of financial principles and the key drivers of the Streaming business in APAC, and stay current on key industry trends.
Relationships: Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with local teams and executives across the company.
What You Bring
5+ years of work experience in relevant fields or functions (e.g. management consulting, investment banking, finance, corporate strategy, etc.). Prior experience with streaming, subscription, and/or media and entertainment businesses preferred.
Strong academic background, including a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or another relevant field.
Fluent in English. Additional proficiency in other APAC languages a plus.
An Excel-master with excellent analytical, research and financial modelling skills, and impeccable attention to detail.
Experience in building executive-level materials, with superior ability to distill complex concepts and analyses into clear, easy-to-understand presentations.
Familiarity and proficiency with enterprise AI tools.
Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly motivated and disciplined, with an ability to adapt, thrive and deliver results in fast-paced, matrixed organizations.
High level of integrity, deep intellectual curiosity, and out-of-the-box thinking ability.
Exceptional organistional skills, and the ability to manage many stakeholders and multiple simultaneous projects and timelines.
Passionate about working in the digital / media industry, with a strong interest in industry news and trends (e.g. streaming landscape, linear ecosystem, advertising evolution)
