We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMB Analytics team at Mercer Marsh Benefits, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Bring in your experience to build a robust data quality management framework so to improve data quality to meet defined standards and drive business outcomes. This role will report to the MMB Analytics Data Governance Leader.

Manager – Data Quality & Data Stewardship

We will count on you to:

  • Perform hands-on stewardship tasks to execute data domain specific governance policies, standards and procedures so as to ensure data readiness for downstream analytics

  • Understand the data landscape, data flows and respective regulatory requirements throughout the organization, working with regions to overcome bottlenecks

  • Help in establishing data requirements, policies and standards. Validate & monitor the level of data quality. Contribute to development of business rules that govern their respective data domains (i.e. ETL rules, data acquisition rules etc.)

  • Responsible for establishing data quality metrics, data quality audits. Support with issue identification, RCA and issue remediation.

  • Analyze data and determine data anomalies. Work with DQ/ETL Engineers in configuring DQ checks and validation

  • Responsible for maintenance of MMB data & its metadata. Bring clarity in understanding as to what data means, who owns it, where it is stored, what its quality etc.

  • Drive MMB data lifecycle through data stewardship and ownership with alignment from regional and global stakeholders

  • Create measures and metrics to show progress of solving issues through stewardship activities and execution of stewardship programs

  • Providing recommendations and guidelines for periodic data quality checks and drive governance to ensure long-term data trust and delivery of meaningful analytics

  • Assist with data acquisition, classification, data retention & disposal policies. Define & translate data security requirements into data policies & rules to meet data privacy requirements (for PII/SPI data)

  • Align with data engineering, data analytics, data science, data quality, and analytics operations work to ensure consistency across work streams.

  • Develop relationships with various markets (APAC, UK & Europe, Latin America, Middle East & Canada) to drive data stewardship programs.

  • Support stakeholders in improving data literacy and advocate data governance & data management adoption

What you need to have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data stewardship activities and validating data as ‘fit for purpose’

  • Masters/bachelor’s degree in information sciences/ engineering, or equivalent

  • Strong experience in any enterprise data quality and cataloging tool (Informatica- IDQ (Informatica Data Quality), IDMC- CDI/CDQ, CDQ (Cloud Data Quality), CDI (Cloud Data Integration), IICS, Talend, Databricks,  etc.) preferred

  • Strong understanding of data platforms, data profiling, data engineering/ETL, data integration, data reporting/analytics, data management tools (i.e. MDM, RDM, DQM, Metadata)

  • Familiarity with languages such as Python, R, SAS , SQL etc and cloud based tools & capabilities.

  • Experience working with Data Owners, Data Custodians in documenting business & technical metadata.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience of working with international stakeholders
