Position Overview:

Within the Global Tools & Storage division of Stanley Black & Decker we are currently looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Packaging organization.  In this role, you will design and execute production packaging for global brands. The right candidate will be a self-starter able to take the initiative and manage their projects, working with other Designers, Brand Strategists and Product Managers and Package Engineers to achieve the best possible results. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized individual, who will be proactive and look to identify opportunities to streamline processes and work cross-functionally with the business and Global Customer Experience teams to develop and deliver best-in-class print production solutions.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Use software and design programs like Adobe Illustrator and Indesign to create packaging artwork and labels.
  • Work with dieline files to accurately place artwork for production and assembly.
  • Develop and illustrate graphic icons.
  • Adhere to standards and template direction to create brand consistency across categories and business units.
  • Explore and implement automation tools to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate and communicate with global partners; sharing best practices and resources.
  • Ensure all necessary information is provided before starting a project, elevating issues or questions.
  • Work with Photoshop layers, color schemes, color correction, fonts, and clipping paths.
  • Work with Illustrator paths, masks, layers, colors, fonts, and die lines.
  • Monitor and track iterations and reviews for approvals.
  • Proof and perform quality control on your own and other’s work in detail.
  • Prepare and collect files for final output and release.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and track details of multiple projects.


Position Requirements:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years’ work experience with an in-house marketing team or advertising agency.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed, global company
  • Understanding of on-press production processes
  • Proficiency in all applicable MAC software (Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office) 
  • Experience managing and tracking tasks in Workfront a plus
  • Excellent time-management, and project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects with little supervision
  • Superb interpersonal skills and working in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Self-driven & internally motivated
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Design thinking, creative problem-solving skills and growth mindset.
  • Portfolio with relevant work experience and examples required
