Job Description: 

The Role and Impact As a Principal Engineer, AI Systems and Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence at Intel. This is an opportunity to lead the design and development of AI systems that integrate cutting-edge hardware, software, firmware, board, and silicon components. Your expertise will directly influence Intel's AI product roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs and advancing innovation across a range of industries, including autonomous driving, robotics, and cloud systems. As a recognized domain expert, you will have the opportunity to mentor and develop the next generation of technical leaders, act as a technical visionary, and contribute to transformative solutions that drive Intel's leadership in AI. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop integrated AI solutions, including deep learning and machine learning systems, that meet customer requirements and operational constraints. - Serve as a key contributor to AI systems architecture, translating business opportunities into actionable use cases and product specifications. - Lead the definition of hardware and software components, ensuring performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability across the system lifecycle. - Develop and innovate in areas such as reinforcement learning, policy learning, computer vision, simulation, and robotics. - Conduct comprehensive analysis of component-level choices, factoring in performance, features, cost, security, scalability, and sustainability. - Lead the implementation and integration of AI systems, deploying solutions, executing benchmarks, and delivering technical documentation. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze next-generation opportunities, define research directions, and contribute directly to the AI product roadmap. - Mentor and develop other technical leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence across the organization.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 12+ years of experience in AI systems and solutions, or a Master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a PhD with 6+ years of experience. - Demonstrated expertise in AI productization platforms, deep learning models, and systems architecture. - Proven experience in solution design, systems validation, and delivering end-to-end technical solutions. - Proficiency in deep learning frameworks, programming languages such as Python or C++, and AI infrastructure tools. - A strong track record of disciplined execution and delivering complex technical projects to market. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with reinforcement learning, autonomous systems, or sim2real applications. - Familiarity with advanced memory, security, and operating system technologies that intersect with AI solutions. - Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentorship skills, with experience guiding technical teams and fostering innovation. - Ability to drive technical strategy and align organizational goals with groundbreaking technology solutions. The Central Engineering Group (CEG) is Intel's data-driven organization that builds scalable engineering solutions across three pillars: Product Enablement (IP, tools, and methodologies), Custom ASIC (leveraging existing IP for custom silicon), and Foundry Enablement (supporting top customers and validating technologies). The team focuses on customer-driven, end-to-end solutions with short development cycles to deliver measurable business impact across Intel's product and foundry businesses.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $255,850.00-361,200.00 USD

 

 

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work Model for this Role
