Senior Software Engineer, ITC
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
The Engineering Excellence team is a high-impact group working with engineers, architects, and product managers across Nike Global Technology to modernize the developer tools ecosystem. This role reports to Senior Director and partners with squads focused on platform consolidation, cloud-native development, and AI-native delivery practices.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who delivers complex software solutions independently and contributes actively to the technical direction of the team. The successful candidate has a strong foundation in cloud-native development, writes production-grade code with confidence, and brings thoughtful engineering judgment to technical discussions. This role requires someone who is proactive about quality, comfortable working across distributed systems, and eager to grow into broader technical leadership. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with modern developer tooling, CI/CD workflows, and an interest in how AI is reshaping the software delivery lifecycle.
- 5–7 years of software engineering experience; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
- Proficiency in Java, Node.js, Golang, React, or JavaScript with proven experience delivering production-quality cloud-native applications
- 3+ years of experience with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms and working knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and deployment tooling
- Experience with CI/CD platforms, GitHub Actions or equivalent, artifact management, and collaborative development workflows
- Strong communication skills, collaborative working style, and experience contributing effectively within agile, cross-functional teams
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
You'll build meaningful features across Nike's core developer platforms — real tools that real engineers use every day — while contributing to decisions that improve how the entire engineering organization works. This isn't maintenance work; it's platform transformation at scale.
- Build and ship features for Nike's unified developer platforms including GitHub integrations, Nike AI Control Plane components, Databricks analytics dashboards, and Pulse developer portal enhancements
- Contribute to the implementation of AI-native development workflows — building the tooling that enables agent-assisted software delivery with human checkpoints across the development lifecycle
- Participate in the technical analysis and replacement of fragmented legacy tools with modern, efficient solutions aligned to Nike's multi-year simplification roadmap
- Develop resilient, well-tested software components that integrate with Nike's global cloud infrastructure and support engineering teams across time zones and geographies
- Engage in code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative problem solving that collectively raise the quality bar across the squad
- Support implementation of traceability frameworks that connect development activities to business outcomes and production monitoring signals
- Contribute to communities of practice in cloud, DevOps, and AI/ML — staying sharp on industry trends and bringing that knowledge back to the team
