Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Alignment Engineer (Design) to join our team!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead and coordinate the railway alignment design process from concept through detailed design, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee route selection studies and evaluate technical, environmental, social, operational, and constructability constraints.
  • Review and approve horizontal and vertical alignment proposals in accordance with applicable international and local standards.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, track, structures, systems, geotechnical, environmental, and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Manage interfaces with land acquisition teams, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and third parties to support alignment feasibility and project objectives.
  • Ensure effective coordination between infrastructure teams and all entities involved in the design and delivery process.
  • Review and validate alignment reports, drawings, models, and technical deliverables to ensure quality, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control processes for all alignment-related design outputs.
  • Participate in technical meetings, workshops, design reviews, and site visits, representing alignment engineering matters and resolving technical concerns.
  • Identify and manage alignment-related risks and support proactive mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage design changes and ensure proper documentation, traceability, and governance of technical decisions.
  • Promote innovation and value engineering initiatives to optimize design solutions and project outcomes.
  • Support project teams in resolving complex alignment and corridor design challenges.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in railway route and alignment design for major rail or linear infrastructure projects.
  • Experience delivering large-scale conventional railway or long-distance rail projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international railway design standards, alignment principles, and track geometry requirements.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design interfaces and coordinating with a wide range of project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in alignment design and modeling software such as Bentley Rail Track, OpenRail, Civil 3D, MXROAD, or similar platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and support project delivery within schedule and quality requirements.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working on major rail, metro, transit, or transportation infrastructure programs.
  • Strong understanding of railway corridor development, route optimization, and infrastructure integration.
