Fehr & Peers is looking for an experienced Transportation Engineer or Planner to help lead meaningful, multimodal transportation projects that shape how people move through their communities.
In this role, you won’t just deliver projects—you’ll help define them. You’ll bring technical expertise, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset to complex transportation challenges, while building strong client relationships and supporting the growth of those around you.

Responsibilities
Lead and solve complex transportation planning and engineering challenges across all travel modes
Communicate technical concepts clearly through strong writing, presentations, and discussions with clients and stakeholders
Apply a range of analytical tools and software to develop practical, well-supported recommendations
Work across diverse project types, including traffic and transit simulation, corridor and campus plans, multimodal studies, and transportation impact analyses
Work on a variety of projects, which may include traffic and transit simulation, campus plans, multimodal corridor studies, transportation impact studies, bicycle and pedestrian studies, regional transportation plans, and more
Manage projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Mentor and support the development of junior staff
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning or engineering, including experience in one or more of the following:
Traffic operations analysis (e.g., HCS, Synchro, VISSIM)
Traffic engineering and streetscape design
Transportation planning (e.g., bicycle/ transit plans, infrastructure finance, transportation and land use policy)
Travel demand forecasting (e.g., Cube/Voyager, TransCAD, EMME)
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or a related field (e.g., geography, math, statistics, economics)
Strong technical writing and public speaking skills
Experience with project management and contributing to business development efforts
Professional license (highly desirable)
Willingness to travel to support projects and collaboration across offices
GIS experience (preferred, but not required)
