Job Summary

Responsible for network design, planning, and operations, including capacity management, vendor evaluation, project management and service lifecycle management. Additionally, leverages AI-driven insights, automation, and coding skills to improve network efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Requires strong understanding of network architecture principles and modern infrastructure (DC, cloud, interconnection).

Responsibilities

Deployment

  • Deploys new hardware (single-vendor) in accordance with documented guidelines

  • Engages with GNA in the validation of new hardware

  • Conducts NOC training and performs RMA actions

  • Participates in port, device, and customer migrations

  • Performs deployments of network tools and new features

  • Responsible for new feature enablement

  • Applies automation (Python, scripting) to streamline deployment processes

Product Development Lifecycle Engagements

Requirement Phase

  • Provides feedback as the voice of the customer based on customer queries and trouble tickets

  • Leverages data analytics and AI tools to identify recurring issues and improvement areas

Test Phase

  • Participates in SIT and UAT for new features and network devices

  • Performs comprehensive testing and identifies key customer issues

  • Applies automated test frameworks and validation scriptsx

Sustaining Phase

  • Trains and transitions from deployment teams

  • Manages and sustains deployments to achieve high customer satisfaction

  • Uses AI-assisted monitoring and predictive analysis to improve stability

Service Delivery

  • Performs network service fulfillment (quote-to-cash) for network and datacenter products

  • Ensures successful fulfillment of software-triggered provisioning (e.g., VCs, RIs)

  • Reviews metrics and identifies efficiency improvements

  • Implements automation and data-driven optimization for fulfillment processes

Operations / Reliability Engineering

  • Troubleshoots and resolves network faults (both reactive and proactive detection)

  • Performs preventive maintenance to minimize incidents

  • Utilizes AI-based monitoring tools (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive alerts)

  • Develops scripts/tools for faster root cause analysis and resolution

Innovation

  • Participates in Sparkathon and innovation activities

  • Uses lab environments for technical practice

  • Participates in chaos engineering drills (e.g., Simian Army)

  • Develops automation tools (Python, APIs) for chaos testing and operational resilience

  • Explores AI/ML use cases for network optimization and incident prediction

Technical Skills

Programming / Automation

  • Python, scripting (required)

  • API integration (REST, network automation)

  • Infrastructure as Code (nice to have)

AI / Data

  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts

  • Experience with data analysis, log analysis, and anomaly detection

  • Familiarity with AI-driven monitoring tools (preferred)

Network Architecture

  • Strong understanding of:

    • IP networking (L2/L3, BGP, routing)

    • Data center architecture

    • Interconnection services

    • Scalability and redundancy design

  • Knowledge of modern network architecture (cloud, hybrid, SDN)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Network Operations / Engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong understanding of network architecture and operations

  • Experience in coding/automation (Python preferred)

  • Interest or experience in AI-driven operations (AIOps) is a plus
