This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, financial optimization, and large-scale infrastructure operations, supporting enterprise environments that demand both performance and cost efficiency.
You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud cost management frameworks across complex, multi-platform environments.
The position focuses on building visibility into cloud spend while enabling engineering teams to make data-driven, cost-aware decisions.
You will partner with DevOps, engineering, and business stakeholders to enforce governance, tagging standards, and FinOps best practices across global systems.
A strong emphasis is placed on automation, observability, and continuous improvement of cloud financial operations.
This is a highly technical and collaborative role in a fast-moving environment where cloud scale, efficiency, and accountability are critical.
The position is remote within the U.S., with occasional travel expectations.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into cloud usage, cost trends, and optimization opportunities.
  • Establish and enforce cloud governance standards, including tagging policies, cost allocation frameworks, and resource accountability processes.
  • Automate cloud cost management workflows and integrate FinOps tools into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Monitor cloud environments 24/7 to identify cost anomalies, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities across platforms.
  • Develop and implement FinOps strategies, including project plans, risk assessments, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Define and document best practices, operational procedures, and support models for cloud financial operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to implement RBAC/ABAC models and manage IAM access controls securely.
  • Mentor and cross-train team members on cloud cost optimization tools, practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reporting accuracy, and financial accountability in cloud environments.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of overall experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related technical roles, including at least 2+ years in FinOps or cloud cost management.
    • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, pricing models, and cost optimization strategies.
    • Hands-on experience with FinOps tools such as Flexera One or similar cloud cost management platforms.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
    • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and data processing.
    • Experience implementing governance frameworks, tagging standards, and cost allocation policies in cloud environments.
    • Solid understanding of IAM concepts, including RBAC/ABAC and privileged access management.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
    • Experience in DevOps or cloud-native engineering environments is highly preferred.
    • FinOps certification or equivalent credential is a strong plus.
