We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join the Common ASTRO DevOps team supporting ASTRO Public Safety Systems. The role focuses on shared CI/CD support, with Ansible as the team’s main current project.
You will work with experienced engineers on automation and troubleshooting across on-prem and AWS environments, helping maintain Ansible-based configuration, Jenkins workflows, Artifactory processes, and release-support tooling.
This is a growth role for someone who wants to build practical DevOps skills, learn shared platform support, and gradually take ownership of smaller automation tasks.
Technologies/frameworks
Main focus: Ansible automation and configuration support
Automation and scripting: Python, Groovy, Bash
CI/CD and SCM: Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory
Platforms: Linux (Red Hat), Windows, KVM
Basic Requirements
One year of experience in DevOps, CI/CD support, system administration, or software engineering
Basic knowledge of scripting or programming, preferably Python, Groovy or Bash
Basic knowledge of Git and interest in Jenkins-based CI/CD tooling
Experience with Linux and confidence using the command line
Basic experience with Ansible, shared platform support, and operational troubleshooting
Ability to work in a Scrum team and communicate clearly in English
In addition, we would welcome:
Familiarity with Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory
Exposure to Linux, KVM, or AWS environments
Interest in build/release engineering and internal developer tools
