This is a senior technical leadership role focused on building and evolving the integration backbone that connects complex, enterprise-scale product ecosystems. You will define how systems communicate across internal platforms and external partner environments, shaping API standards, event-driven architectures, and integration patterns used across multiple product lines. This role combines deep hands-on engineering with architectural ownership, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and easy for other teams to build upon. You will operate across boundaries, influencing engineering teams without formal authority while driving alignment on technical direction. The work directly impacts the consistency, performance, and extensibility of the broader platform. • Define and own the reference architecture for platform integrations, including API standards, integration patterns, and event-driven system design used across multiple engineering teams
• Lead architectural reviews and technical decision-making for cross-team and cross-product integration initiatives, ensuring scalable and consistent design practices
• Design and evolve REST APIs, messaging systems, and integration frameworks that support internal services and external partner connectivity
• Drive adoption of shared integration infrastructure and establish onboarding standards, documentation, and governance practices
• Contribute hands-on to backend development, including integration services, shared libraries, and developer tooling
• Identify systemic risks and architectural gaps early, proactively improving system reliability and maintainability
• Mentor senior engineers and elevate engineering practices across teams through code reviews, RFCs, and design guidance
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical leadership across multiple teams or domains
• Deep expertise in designing and operating production-grade integration systems, including REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems
• Strong experience with API lifecycle management (versioning, contracts, deprecation) and API gateway technologies
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or similar)
• Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based systems (AWS strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts, asynchronous processing, and event streaming platforms
• Proven ability to drive architecture decisions and influence without formal authority
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering workflows
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and platform stakeholders
• Competitive base salary range: $152,519 – $260,000, plus bonus eligibility
