Department Overview

Dimetra's engineering team delivers mission-critical TETRA-based communications systems in over 100 countries around the world. We develop the systems that are used by public safety organisations, police and emergency services, and we're proud that they contribute directly to saving lives. Some of the projects also cover the military sector. The Linux Platform team plays a crucial role in delivering platform solutions (Linux OS, virtualisation techniques, server configuration) that enable the building and configuration of the core of Dimetra communications systems.


Job Description

We're looking for an Intern Linux Platform Engineer to work in a team divided into 2 scrum teams. We are seeking someone who is eager to grow, take on new challenges and contribute to the entire development lifecycle of DIMETRA Linux Platform team products.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and support new features using Python and Bash.

  • Perform frequent integrations to ensure code functionality, with hands-on opportunities in our lab.

  • Update existing automated tests and create new ones.

  • Automate tasks and create jobs to run scripts automatically in CI/CD pipeline.

  • Actively participate in agile processes, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.


Basic Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems

  • Basic knowledge of Bash

  • Basic knowledge of Python

  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and to switch tasks and/or used technologies

  • Troubleshooting skills, an analytic approach to given tasks and problems

  • English language skills at a level allowing efficient communication

  • Availability 32 hours per week (minimum)

  • At least one year of cooperation

  • Availability to work 2 days per week in our office in Kraków (Czerwone Maki 82)

Familiarity with some of the following will be a plus:

  • Experience in Linux systems development or maintenance

  • Jenkins
