About the Job :

Red Hat Engineering is looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer in Bangalore to join the OpenShift sandbox containers group to lead new initiatives in the area of confidential containers and agent sandboxing. These tools will be pillars in the secure deployment of AI workloads and agents. In this role, you will take part in working on emerging technologies around confidential containers and sandboxing including engaging with multiple teams both in Red Hat and upstream communities such as Kata containers, Confidential Containers, agent sandbox and more

You will be working both on cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and bare metal deployments leveraging cutting edge technologies such as Intel TDX, AMD SEV-SNP, Nvidia confidential GPUs and more. You will be part of a distributed team, working closely with multiple partners (IBM, Intel, AMD, Nvidia) and a number of upstream communities. 

You will be working in an agile environment focusing on delivering results and leveraging agentic agents whenever possible and useful. In a nutshell, you will be part of a group aiming to make a strong impact on the industry. 

What you will do:

  • Take part in designing, implementing and testing new capabilities around confidential containers and agent sandboxing 

  • Take an active role including contributing code to the confidential containers and agent sandboxing communities helping influence their direction

  • Focal point for security discussion especially around attestation and sandboxing technologies (kernel and user space solutions) 

  • Working with customer and partners on end-to-end solutions using Openshift, Red Hat AI and other components to support confidential and sandbox workloads 

  • Handling customer cases requiring a deep understanding of Openshift/Kubernetes, networking, security, storage and more

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes architecture, API machinery, and container runtimes (CRI-O, containerd). You should be comfortable debugging complex cluster issues

  • Strong understanding of security principles, including encryption, attestation, and key management. Familiarity with Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), Confidential Computing concepts and sandboxing

  • Proficiency in Golang or Rust for systems-level programming

  • A good understanding of Linux both kernel and user space 

  • Proven track record of contributing to open source communities

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to technical stakeholders.
