What you’ll do

This role serves as a central support function within the Finance and Accounting team, handling service request triage, operational coordination, and recurring team tasks. The position also drives process documentation and enhances the efficiency of shared platforms and workflows.

The Accounting Processes and Systems Administrative Analyst is a full-time role located in Southfield, Michigan and reports to the Accounting Processes and Systems Manager. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

  • Address inquiries and resolve issues related to accounting functions, including serving as an initial triage point for accounting-wide service requests submitted through ServiceNow.
  • Support recurring Finance and Accounting operational tasks and activities, including responding to ad hoc requests and assisting with internal control and audit procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build, enhance, and maintain documentation of Finance and Accounting processes, controls, and workflows using various tools, such as SharePoint.
  • Support the identification of opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and operations.
  • Support projects specific to accounting processes and/or other firm-wide initiatives, including serving as the Finance and Accounting group’s internal SharePoint site administrator.
  • Build networks within the firm and collaborate successfully with colleagues to advance the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes and shared platforms.
  • Support Finance and Accounting team operations, including onboarding, distribution list and headcount maintenance, team event coordination, and meeting logistics, and providing scheduling and travel support for Finance leaders as needed.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, or an administrative or operations support role; experience in a professional services environment preferred.
  • Advanced MS PowerPoint and Outlook skills required.
  • Advanced MS Word, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and financial systems preferred; experience with SAP, ServiceNow, or similar platforms a plus.
  • Resourcefulness in utilizing reporting tools and data to support team goals and meet operational requirements.
  • Flexible and responsive work style; ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment with poise and professionalism.
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, demonstrating proofreading skills; demonstrated ability to resolve issues effectively under tight time frames while managing individual priorities and adapting to changing needs with minimum guidance.
  • Collaborative style and customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written in English with the ability to deliver clear messages and collaborate effectively within and across teams and interact with people at all levels.

  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as business needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
