About the role

Enterprise Technology Platform Engineering powers the infrastructure foundation that enables enterprise systems and distributed systems at scale. As Enterprise Technology continues to expand its platform footprint, this role will shape and lead our next generation platform, driving infrastructure strategy, DevOps maturity, SRE excellence, and scalable automation. You will define how the platform operates at scale, establish reliability standards, enable high velocity development, and ensure governance and operational discipline are built into the system by design.

In the role of Senior Director, Platform Engineering, you will report to the VP, Enterprise Technology. We are considering applicants for the location of Dallas (in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).

You will:

  • Define and lead platform strategy to support enterprise systems and distributed systems at scale.
  • Build and scale Infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE organizations across multiple teams and leaders.
  • Establish modern reliability practices, including SLIs, SLOs, observability, incident management, and error budgets.
  • Drive automation first infrastructure, CI CD maturity, and infrastructure as code standards.
  • Partner with Security to embed guardrails and policy enforcement into platform architecture.
  • Design and scale infrastructure to support enterprise applications and data intensive workloads.
  • Enable platform capabilities for data intensive and model driven workloads, including scalable compute, data pipelines, and production deployment systems.
  • Define platform standards for integrating data driven and model based systems into production environments, including training, deployment, and monitoring workflows.
  • Drive adoption of advanced automation and data driven operational practices including anomaly detection, predictive scaling, and operational insights.
  • Establish a long term platform operating model that supports high velocity engineering.
  • Provide executive visibility into platform health, reliability, and risk.
  • Align platform evolution with business growth, ensuring scalability, resilience, and efficiency.

About You

  • You have 15+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE, with 7+ years leading managers and senior engineering leaders.
  • You have led large scale, multi team organizations responsible for distributed systems at scale.
  • You have defined and executed platform strategy in high growth or enterprise environments.
  • You have deep expertise in distributed systems, infrastructure automation, and modern platform architectures.
  • You have experience supporting large scale data platforms and advanced processing workloads.
  • You have led adoption of DevOps and SRE practices at organizational scale.
  • You have experience partnering with Security and Data teams to operationalize governance and platform standards.
  • You are comfortable influencing executive stakeholders and driving cross functional alignment.
  • You have a track record of building scalable operating models, not just systems.
  • You have experience operating platforms in multi-cloud environments, including AWS and GCP.

Enterprise Technology Platform Engineering builds and operates the infrastructure foundation that supports enterprise systems, data platforms, and distributed systems at scale. The team spans Infrastructure Engineering, DevSecOps, and Reliability Engineering, and is responsible for enabling scalable, secure, and reliable systems across the organization. As the business grows, the team is focused on advancing platform maturity, automation, and operational excellence.
