This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a System Administrator – Azure and Windows based in India.

You will join a highly technical infrastructure team responsible for managing and evolving enterprise-grade hybrid environments spanning cloud and on-premises systems. The role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and security of critical workloads running across Microsoft Azure and Windows Server ecosystems. You will work on designing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable infrastructure that supports business-critical applications and services. This position combines hands-on system administration with cloud operations, automation, and incident management in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support infrastructure modernization, migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly impact system reliability, operational efficiency, and end-user experience across global environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Administer, deploy, and monitor cloud workloads across Microsoft Azure, including IaaS and PaaS environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Manage hybrid identity and access systems such as Azure Active Directory integration, identity synchronization, and single sign-on configurations.
  • Configure and maintain networking components including VNets, NSGs, VPN gateways, route tables, and security groups across cloud environments.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022), including installation, patching, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement backup, recovery, monitoring, and alerting solutions using tools such as Azure Monitor and Azure Backup.
  • Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
  • Administer core Microsoft infrastructure services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and NTP.
  • Manage VMware and virtualized environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) as required, ensuring system availability and resource optimization.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and cost optimization across hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Handle incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and service restoration.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation covering system configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support 24/7 infrastructure availability and critical incident management.
  • Requirements

    • 5–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure or system administration, with strong expertise in both Windows Server and cloud environments.
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure administration and cloud infrastructure management.
    • Strong experience administering Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) in production environments.
    • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall concepts.
    • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
    • Hands-on experience managing Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Group Policy, and related Microsoft infrastructure components.
    • Experience working in hybrid infrastructure environments, including data center and cloud-hosted systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex incidents independently.
    • Excellent communication skills, with experience handling stakeholder and client-facing interactions.
    • Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative, cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are considered an advantage.
