Engineer, Senior DevOps
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in India.
This role sits at the center of a large-scale cloud transformation initiative, focused on designing and operating modern, secure, and highly available cloud platforms. You will work across AWS and Azure environments to build resilient infrastructure supporting data ingestion, processing, and analytics at enterprise scale. The position offers significant ownership of architecture, automation, and DevOps practices across the full software delivery lifecycle. You will contribute to cloud migration programs, helping modernize legacy systems into cloud-native solutions. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and deeply engineering-driven, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and security. This is a high-impact role where your decisions directly shape platform performance and operational excellence.
Accountabilities:
- Design and operate scalable, fault-tolerant cloud architectures across AWS and Azure, including multi-region and multi-AZ environments.
- Lead infrastructure automation using Terraform and other IaC tools, ensuring reusable modules, secure state management, and standardized deployments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, release strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling), and artifact management.
- Manage Kubernetes platforms (EKS, AKS), including cluster lifecycle, scaling, security, Helm charts, and service mesh integration.
- Develop observability solutions using monitoring, logging, and tracing tools to ensure system health, performance, and proactive incident response.
- Implement cloud security controls including IAM, zero-trust principles, compliance frameworks, secrets management, and policy-as-code.
- Drive operational excellence through automation, reliability engineering, disaster recovery planning, and incident management practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions and DevOps culture improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including architecture and migration strategies.
- Advanced experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code, along with scripting in Python and Bash.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), containerization, Docker, and orchestration best practices.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, security architecture, and cloud connectivity patterns.
- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry) and incident management.
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate, and Azure/AWS certifications.
