Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Jobgether · US

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer based in the United States.

This role sits at the core of large-scale platform reliability and cloud infrastructure engineering, focused on building, automating, and evolving the systems that power high-traffic digital products. You will design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure across AWS and Kubernetes environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency at scale. The position blends hands-on engineering with architectural influence, requiring strong ownership of infrastructure tooling, deployment pipelines, and observability systems. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to improve platform resilience, streamline delivery processes, and introduce modern infrastructure practices. A key part of the role involves driving automation through infrastructure-as-code and container orchestration technologies while ensuring systems remain secure and highly available. This is a high-impact engineering environment where your decisions directly shape system reliability and customer experience.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure while improving automation, reliability, and operational efficiency across production systems.

  • Develop and enhance internal infrastructure tools and automation frameworks aligned with architectural standards.
  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS-based infrastructure using services such as EC2, RDS, CloudFormation, and ElastiCache.
  • Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters, including workload orchestration, scaling, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform, Helm, and related frameworks.
  • Drive observability and monitoring strategies using tools like CloudWatch, New Relic, or Nagios.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system reliability, performance, and deployment processes.
  • Lead code reviews and ensure infrastructure changes meet performance, security, and reliability standards.

  • Document architectural decisions, infrastructure designs, and operational processes for cross-team alignment.
  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings deep cloud infrastructure expertise, strong Kubernetes experience, and a solid software engineering background, along with the ability to mentor and influence technical direction.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure in production environments.
    • 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
    • Strong programming skills in Python and Go, with experience writing production-grade code.
    • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Helm, or similar.
    • Experience with Docker and containerized application environments.
    • Knowledge of cloud or on-prem storage systems and distributed infrastructure patterns.
    • Experience supporting production systems such as Kafka, Zookeeper, and Postgres.
    • Familiarity with GitOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies such as blue/green deployments.
    • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and incident response practices.
    • Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
    • Benefits:

This role offers a competitive and well-rounded package designed to support both professional growth and personal wellbeing.

      • Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus and equity opportunities
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
