Sr DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr DevOps Engineer based in the United States.

This is a high-impact platform engineering role focused on building and scaling cloud infrastructure that enables engineering teams to deliver software faster and more reliably. In this position, you will design and evolve a modern Azure-based platform, with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and self-service capabilities. You will work across multiple development teams to eliminate deployment bottlenecks and standardize CI/CD practices. The role requires deep hands-on expertise in Azure, Terraform, and Azure DevOps to build scalable, repeatable infrastructure solutions. You will play a key role in shaping platform architecture, improving operational efficiency, and enabling engineering velocity across the organization. This is a fully remote opportunity within a collaborative and fast-moving technical environment.

Accountabilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform as the primary Infrastructure-as-Code tool.
  • Develop reusable Terraform modules, deployment patterns, and infrastructure standards to support multiple engineering teams.
  • Build and enhance platform capabilities that enable self-service deployments and reduce infrastructure dependencies.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Manage Terraform state, automation workflows, and infrastructure deployment processes.
  • Support and maintain Azure App Services and Azure Functions in production environments.
  • Modernize legacy deployment systems by migrating workflows into standardized Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Establish infrastructure governance, security standards, and operational best practices across the platform.
  • Partner with engineering teams to streamline application delivery and reduce operational overhead.
  • Document platform architecture, deployment procedures, and operational guidelines for internal teams.
  • Evaluate and contribute to future platform initiatives, including containerization and Kubernetes adoption.
  • Provide troubleshooting and operational support for complex cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments.
    • Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
    • Solid experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) including CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
    • Strong background in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD automation workflows.
    • Experience with Azure App Services and Azure Functions.
    • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar automation languages.
    • Experience supporting multiple engineering teams in a shared infrastructure or platform model.
    • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis capabilities.
    • Understanding of infrastructure governance, security, and operational best practices.
    • Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative engineering environments.
    • Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, and observability tooling experience is a strong plus.
    • Prior experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure is highly valued.
