777/777X Systems Service Engineering Manager

The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Customer Support is seeking Systems Service Engineering Managers (Level K) for the 777/777X fleet to join our team in Seal Beach, California.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering in-service technical support for both in-production and out-of-production Boeing Commercial Airplane models, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
As the first-line leader, you will be responsible for addressing in-service technical issues and fleet concerns related to a variety of engineering functions such as Propulsion, Mechanical, or Avionics/Electrical Systems. You will be responsible to lead a cross functional team of skilled service engineers to support the 777 in service fleet and prepare for 777X Entry Into Service (EIS).
This fast-paced position requires quick reactions, resilience, and adaptability. You will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, global teammates, and direct reports. The position will require some travel (domestic / international) to collaborate with program leaders, customers, and suppliers.
In this leadership role, you will provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes while managing, developing, and motivating your team. The position will involve some travel (domestic and international) to collaborate with program leaders, customers, suppliers, and other organizations. Flexibility is essential, as you will need to support emergent issues and attend important Airline Customer meetings outside of regular hours, which may include occasional off-shift work to support the 24x7x365 operation of the global fleet.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads execution of Engineering activities to ensure first-time quality and on-time performance.
Responsible for execution of service engineering and solutions by suppliers and other Boeing organizations, including Boeing Global Teams.
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes related to in-service issues for Boeing Commercial Airplane owners/operators.
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Manages, develops and motivates employees by modeling Boeing Values.
Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.
Inspires employees by championing forward-thinking and innovative solutions.
Proactively communicates with employees, peers, and customers. Keeps others informed by communicating project status, conducting and participating in team meetings, providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions.
Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.
Systematically evaluates proper job classification of employees, sets employee priorities, manages and evaluates performance to plan on a reoccurring basis.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at Seal Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in customer support, dealing with and solving airline operator technical questions and issues
Understanding of 777 Airplane Systems
Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in engineering challenges.
Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
Solid technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team.
