This is a high-impact technical leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling the foundational platform services used across the entire engineering organization. You will lead a team building shared capabilities such as authentication, authorization, notifications, AI services, email infrastructure, tokenization, and developer tooling that enable product teams to move faster and more reliably. The role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, developer experience, and system architecture, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and usability. You will define the long-term vision for shared services and drive adoption across multiple engineering teams. This is a highly collaborative position requiring close partnership with Product, Security, TPMs, and engineering consumers. It is ideal for a leader passionate about building robust internal platforms that power large-scale systems and improve developer productivity.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Shared Services engineering team responsible for building and maintaining core platform capabilities used across all engineering teams.
  • Define the long-term vision and roadmap for shared services, including authentication, authorization, notifications, AI services, and developer tooling.
  • Drive adoption of platform services across engineering teams, ensuring strong usability, reliability, and developer experience.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Security, TPM, and engineering teams) to align priorities and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Oversee system reliability, performance, and observability, ensuring high-quality, production-grade services.
  • Mentor and grow engineers, fostering a strong culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Lead engineering best practices around on-call operations, incident response, and service ownership.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience building and operating production-grade software systems at scale.
    • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams in fast-paced, product or platform environments.
    • Proven experience leading platform, shared services, or developer experience teams serving internal engineering customers.
    • Strong systems design expertise, including scalability, distributed systems, and performance optimization.
    • Deep understanding of software engineering practices, agile delivery, and modern development workflows.
    • Experience with application security principles, including authentication and authorization systems.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Experience working with or directing AI-assisted development tools and engineering productivity solutions.
    • Preferred: experience with identity systems, notification platforms, or developer infrastructure at scale; familiarity with modern stacks such as TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, and Terraform.
