Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Financial Decision Support & Risk Management Analyst located in Caracas through June 19th 11:59 PM.

The Financial Decision Support & Risk Management Analyst is part of the Contract Assurance & Risk Assessment department. This role supports the oversight of Chevron Venezuela’s execution of agreements with its JV partner, with a primary focus on ensuring compliance with contractual terms and promoting transparency, accuracy, and integrity in financial and operational information, including data, calculations, and revenue allocations.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

The Financial Decision Support & Risk Management Analyst role requires a comprehensive understanding of Chevron Venezuela’s operations, business model, and governing agreements, ensuring the effective implementation and ongoing enhancement of internal controls across multiple business segments.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, commercial, and support functions) to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and the consistent application of control frameworks.

  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of control environments to strengthen data reliability, financial accuracy, and compliance.

  • Interpret and operationalize contractual terms into practical control activities, develop and maintain procedures, protocols, and control documentation for reporting, governance, and performance monitoring, and leverage data analysis tools to enhance visibility, identify trends, and support decision-making related to controls and risks.

  • Provide financial insights and analytical support to senior finance leadership, including ad hoc requests from the Finance General Manager, with a focus on P&L performance, Balance Sheet components, and working capital exposure, contributing to a holistic understanding of business drivers and financial position.

  • Prepare the organization for audits, ensuring readiness, coordination, and appropriate documentation in accordance with agreement requirements.

  • Generate management reports and dashboards highlighting risk areas and key performance indicators, providing actionable insights.

  • Facilitate risk identification and remediation efforts, working closely with stakeholders to track progress and drive timely resolution.

  • Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, with strong business acumen.

  • Solid understanding of financial concepts, including financial statements, taxation, and accounting principles (Oil & Gas experience preferred).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, with working knowledge of PowerPoint and data visualization tools such as Power BI.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data integrity.

  • Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Oil & Gas value chain, particularly upstream operations and commercial frameworks

  • Experience in audit, internal controls, risk management, or similar assurance functions

  • Experience working with data analytics, reporting tools, or performance tracking frameworks

  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and control optimization practices

  • Exposure to integrated financial analysis and business partnering, including interpretation of P&L, Balance Sheet dynamics, and working capital metrics, with the ability to respond to ad hoc senior management requests

Relocation may be considered.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
