Associate Analyst, Investment Operations
Morningstar’s Investment Management South Africa is seeking an Associate Investment Operations Analyst to join our investment operations team. We are looking for an assertive, detail-oriented, self-starter who can work effectively in a highly collaborative team setting. In this role you will support with the day-to-day investment operations tasks. The ideal candidate has excellent organisation and time management skills, the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily tasks, including cash flow allocation processing, pre- and post-trade compliance checks, trade execution processing, and cash/position reconciliation.
Maintain model portfolios on multiple platforms.
Implement portfolio rebalances and reallocations, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
Generate daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting, including but not limited to NAV reporting, Factsheets, Commentary, AUM reporting, Client reporting.
Manage the fee calculation and invoicing process with the relevant parties.
Provide support with client and service provider onboarding, ensuring smooth integration into operations.
Provide support with managing and maintaining investment and operational databases and tools.
Take ownership of internal and external queries, resolving them promptly and effectively.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and maintain strong client and provider relationships.
Continuously assess and improve operational processes to mitigate risk and increase efficiency.
Update and maintain detailed documentation of procedures and workflows.
Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualification and a passion for the financial services industry.
At least 1 year experience in an Investment Operations or Fund Administration role.
Understanding of the SA investment and platform industry is advantageous.
Excel (including Macro/VBA) knowledge would be highly desirable.
Knowledge of Morningstar Direct, Tableau, and Salesforce is advantageous.

Base Salary Compensation Range
ZAR 304,762.00-426,032.00Bonus Target:
5% AnnualWe expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
