Associate Investment Specialist

The Team:

The Australian content team is dedicated to presenting Morningstar's independent thought leadership and research to individual investors and advisers. We provide written and video commentary and podcasts to investors in Australia. Our ultimate objective is to help investors reach their financial goals by increasing our reach with Australian investors. 

The Role: 

We are seeking an Associate Investment Specialist to join our content team. As an Associate Investment Specialist in our Sydney office you will be responsible for supporting our team operationally and sourcing and writing stories which help investors achieve their financial goals. Our content is published on morningstar.com.au, our individual and adviser paid research products and social media.   

Morningstar’s flagship Australian website provides investors with essential independent insights on investing, retirement, and personal finance. The Associate Investment Specialist will work with the other members of our content and research teams to produce unique multi-media editorial, incorporating investor education, commentary, and actionable investing ideas.  

We are looking for a dynamic/energetic self-starter with an interest in investing who wants to develop content creation skills while supporting the team in expanding our engagement with Australian investors.  

This is an entry level opportunity to learn Morningstar’s investing philosophy, our equity and manager research methodology and our approach to personal finance.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the team in publishing and disseminating content by creating interactive charts, social media asset creation, podcast operational support, and maintaining the website  

  • Generate written and video content with an emphasis on ETF content 

  • Utilise Morningstar products and tools to generate online content 

  • Analyse Morningstar investment data and market trends to generate online editorial 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent 

  • Knowledge of and interest in personal finance and investment 

  • Interest in learning about content creation and investor engagement 

  • Strong writing skills 

  • Knowledge of or interest in learning Canva, video editing software, etc. 

  • Analytically-minded, with a keen interest in data-driven content 

  • Ability to work to demanding deadlines and to manage content according to the editorial schedule 

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with unlimited right to work in Australia.
