This role supports the Life Sciences Solutions Group's (LSG) financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function and serves as a key business partner to the LSG leadership team. The Life Sciences Solutions Group is a global $7B+ business within Thermo Fisher Scientific, providing innovative solutions that advance biological research, drug discovery and development, and clinical diagnostics. The successful candidate will lead core FP&A processes, enhance business performance through actionable insights, and help develop scalable reporting and planning capabilities. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, executive presence, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple businesses and functions. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, broad visibility across a global organization, and the opportunity to influence strategy and business performance within one of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s largest and most dynamic business groups.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Group’s financial planning and performance management processes, including AOP, Strategic Plan, forecasts, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, partnering closely with the LSG leadership team to deliver business objectives.
Provide strategic financial leadership and insights by analyzing business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommending actions to drive growth, profitability, and value creation.
Develop and communicate executive-level financial reporting and business recommendations for Group leadership, Corporate Finance, and senior management to support decision-making and execution.
Drive continuous improvement in financial planning, reporting, analytics, and business processes.
Strengthen financial controls, KPI management, and governance processes across the organization.
Lead, coach, and develop finance talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Build strong partnerships across divisions, functions, and Corporate Finance to support strategic decision-making and execution.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong financial, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
Proven leadership and project management experience, with a track record of developing talent and driving results in a fast-paced, global organization.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels within a highly matrixed environment.
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
Demonstrated commitment to Thermo Fisher Scientific's 4i Values, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
6+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A experience within a large, complex organization.
Experience supporting senior leadership teams and leading planning, forecasting, and business review processes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning/reporting systems.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
