Division/Site Specific Information
Role reports to the Allentown, PA site and reports to the Clinical Trials Division (CTD). CTD partners with pharmaceutical and biotech customers around the world to ensure the right patients get the right therapies in the right doses at the right time – a concept that we internally embrace as “There is a Patient Waiting.” Our outstanding blend of services includes project management, packaging, distribution, transportation management and specialty logistics, ancillary supply management, clinical supply optimization, bio-repository storage and much more.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll support our mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer as a Commercial Operations Data Analyst. In this role, you will serve as the site's SAP subject matter expert, supporting commercial packaging operations, project management initiatives, and cross-functional business processes. You will drive operational excellence by implementing more efficient ways of working, optimizing SAP processes, and introducing new capabilities that enhance site performance and scalability.
A Day in The Life:
This is a pivotal role that serves as a cross-functional resource across Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial teams.
You will be responsible for maintaining critical SAP master data, supporting technology transfer projects, enabling successful product launches, and ensuring uninterrupted ongoing commercial supply.
Through effective collaboration and data-driven decision-making, you will help ensure operational readiness and business continuity.
In addition, you will provide analytics and reporting support to stakeholders, proactively identifying trends, recommending process improvements, and delivering actionable insights that support strategic and operational objectives.
This role combines technical expertise, SAP ERP knowledge, project coordination, and business acumen to drive continuous improvement and support Thermo Fisher Scientific's continued growth and success.
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience supporting SAP ERP within a manufacturing, supply chain, commercial operations, or life sciences environment required.
Experience managing SAP master data, including Material Masters, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Recipes, Sales Orders, Process Orders, and Delivery Orders.
Experience supporting technology transfer projects, product launches, commercial packaging operations, or ongoing manufacturing resupply activities.
Experience working in a cross-functional environment, partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience with SAP
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence programs.
Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong knowledge of SAP ERP business processes related to production planning, inventory management, order fulfillment, and commercial operations.
Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SAP reporting tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.
Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information into actionable business insights.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
Ability to work independently while effectively influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
