Senior Accounting Associate

We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to join our fast-growing Accounting organization in our Barcelona offices. This person will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team as well as own and manage Accounting initiatives and projects in perpetuity.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage monthly and quarterly lease accounting close activities, including preparation and posting of lease amortization journal entries for operating and finance leases under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly lease-related account reconciliations and roll-forwards.
  • Review new lease contracts, amendments, renewals, and terminations to determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC 842 and IFRS 16.
  • Assist with the maintenance and administration of lease accounting software, including data inputs, system-generated calculations, reporting, and controls.
  • Support quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures related to leases under U.S. GAAP and IFRS. Analyze variances in lease-related balance sheet and income statement accounts and provide clear explanations to management.
  • Support process improvements and enhancements to lease accounting workflows and reporting.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting activities, if assigned, including preparing and maintaining fixed asset roll-forwards and supporting related financial statement disclosures, management reporting, and audit requests.
  • Support additional general ledger accounting areas as business needs evolve.
  • Collaborate effectively with various teams, subsidiaries, and external auditors to address queries and provide necessary information during audits.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with lease accounting under ASC 842 and IFRS 16 
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in general ledger accounting, or similar
  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in accounting, or in a related specialization
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting principles
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Experience in working in an international company over multiple locations
  • Demonstrated history of process improvements
  • Prior experience working with Oracle will be an advantage
  • Excellent communications skills in English
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and other MS packages
