Associate Paraplanner

Position Overview:

The Associate Paraplanner supports the advice team by preparing advice documentation, conducting research and assisting with the administration and implementation of financial advice strategies. This role is designed as a development opportunity for individuals seeking to build strong technical foundations and progress towards a long-term career in financial planning. Working alongside experienced Advisers and Paraplanners, the Associate Paraplanner will develop advice preparation skills, technical knowledge and an understanding of the end-to-end advice process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of Statements of Advice (SoAs), Records of Advice (RoAs), Review Reports and other advice documentation.
  • Gather, collate and validate client information required for advice preparation.
  • Maintain accurate client records and data within Xplan and other business systems.
  • Assist with research on investments, superannuation, insurance and other financial products.
  • Support the preparation of cashflow projections, modelling and strategy analysis under the guidance of Advisers and Paraplanners.
  • Assist with the preparation of portfolio reviews, investment reports and client presentation materials.
  • Support implementation activities and follow-up requests with product providers, insurers and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor workflows and assist with the timely completion of advice-related tasks.
  • Ensure documentation and file management practices comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining advice templates and supporting advice production processes.
  • Develop an understanding of wholesale and retail investment products through hands-on experience and training.
  • Collaborate with Advisers, CSOs and Paraplanners to support client outcomes.
  • Participate in training, professional development and mentoring opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the advice support team.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 1–2 years' experience in financial services, client service, administration or adviser support.
  • RG146 compliant or willingness to obtain.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce or Business desirable.
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career in financial planning.
  • Exposure to Xplan or similar financial planning software desirable.
