Electrical Systems Integration Engineer

Electrical systems integration and validation, approve device transmittals, develop vehicle-level logical schematics, conduct design/compatibility reviews, support system-level validation/diagnostics, provide technical support for prototype and pre-production builds. 

What You'll Do...

•    Develop vehicle-level Logical Schematics
•    Setup DT Structure in VSEM-GDT
Approve the System aspect of the DT.
•    Ensure Generic Fusing Strategy is being followed
•    Ensure Generic Grounding Strategy is being followed
Development of logical schematics
•    Execute compatibility review
•    Assess Systems FMEA
•    Assess/comply with related system requirements (FEDE)
Coordinate TDR prep and follow with Technical specialist at gateways and track tasks via JIRA.  

Proto Build (DCV):
•    HIL/FDJ Breadboard 
o    Provide configurations only and extraordinary support if needed
•    DCV Breadboard (E/E pre-build system breadboard)
               Determine feature configuration of BB (variants)
               Check BOM to ensure parts are going to be present on BB
               Configure modules (FCT - Ford Converter Tool or EOL simutlation)
               Update module SW (getting SW from IVS or JFrog)
               Functional Testing (quick, point to point testing)
       VEV DV Breadboard (DCV signoff)
               Provide Module Configurations (VSCS development)
               Support Troubleshooting
               VEV maintains BOM, SW, Issues Tracking
               VEV executes DV Tests (FEDE)
       Plant Build Kit (NMPDC, Roush, etc.) (DCV Only, TPV is performed by VEV)
               Update SW & configure Modules
               Run Self-test and collect bus query (part number, config, dtc's, etc)
               Troubleshoot Functional Issues
       Vehicle Build (DCV Only, TPV is performed by VEV)
               Troubleshoot Functional Issues
               Functional Test / KOL (100% module coverage - multiple configurations)
                       Update SW & configure Modules if required
                       Run Self-test and collect bus query (part number, config, dtc's, etc)
Pre-Production Builds (i.e. EPT, TT, PP, MP1, MP2, OKTB, PJ1, J1+90)
       Support Manage Module Software Readiness Document (part of NMP LQOS) and utilize SWBOM to track software revision 
Support EOL-VSCS testing (DSC/APTL testing)
               Identify system differences from DCV to TT and update test vehicles
               Update SW in modules (only using SWCM/IVS or JFrog)
               Troubleshoot issues from EOL testing
               Support the replacement of modules in vehicle with 'virgin-ized' modules 
       At the plant
               EOL troubleshooting, support DTC masking and CBT 
               Functional issues troubleshooting / triage and support extraordinary actions as needed
               Functional Test per control plan/ KOL Auditing per system TDR (aka PVP)
               Support PMT/TPP with On-site Mods (software + config with Movimento)
       VOCF
               DTC Tracker – VE/ Prog Mgm’t has lead. 
Systems will review and identify false codes (i.e. set after SW reflash). 
Support Triage of Issues (D&R has lead)
               Support Extraordinary actions, support SW Update of Fleet; D&R has lead; PMT or NMP to coordinate flash party’s

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 3+ years of automotive experience in wiring and/ or Systems
  • 1+ years of proficiency in root cause analysis and authoring well documented 8D’s
  • Independent worker and capable of delivering multiple project commitments concurrently
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Broad interpersonal skills allowing a wide range of interface with vehicle product development / subsystems engineers, cross-functional teams, and suppliers
  • Experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as vehicle CAN network communication bus and vehicle diagnostics
