Paralegal (Consumer Finance Specialist)

In our Office of General Counsel, you’ll be part of an organization that collaborates with outside counsel to operate as a global team and deliver world-class legal, tax and audit services to client groups throughout the company.

In this position…

  • Ford Motor Credit Company seeks an entry-level paralegal to join the Legal Office in Dearborn, supporting Ford Credit business operations. We will consider applicants who have graduated with a paralegal degree or certificate, as well as those who will graduate by December 2026.

 

 

What you'll do…

  • Work collaboratively with members of the Ford Credit Legal Office to develop practical legal advice that demonstrates a strong understanding and application of the law to Ford Credit’s business
  • Assist attorneys in developing legal advice for Ford Credit management that improves Company decision-making
  • Support the core business of Ford Credit while also participating on cross- functional project teams
  • Assist attorneys in ensuring all procedures, processes, systems, and documents comply with applicable law and corporate policies
  • Assist attorneys with and perform legal research and analysis
  • Support monitoring for compliance with laws, regulations, guidance issued by relevant regulatory bodies, and Company policy
     

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree (to be completed by Dec. 2026) and Paralegal Certificate, if Bachelor’s degree is not in Paralegal Studies (to be completed by Dec. 2026)
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments

  • Experience with state vehicle finance laws and consumer finance regulations
  • Ability to function effectively and collaboratively as part of cross-functional teams
  • Ability to identify legal risk and approaches to mitigate risk from both a litigation and regulatory perspective
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent issue-spotting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure against deadlines and deliver results
  • Comfort with a changing business and legal/regulatory environment

This position is a salary grade 4 and ranges from $56,400-$94,900.
This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300.
This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.   
   
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
