The Structural Analysis Group of Northrop Grumman Marine Systems (NGMS) is looking for Structural Engineers Level 2 or 3 to join our team based out of Sunnyvale, CA, or Ocean Springs, MS, or Annapolis, MD.
What You’ll get to Do:
Develop component and system level finite element models using Hypermesh and post process analysis results using Hyperview, Matlab and Excel.
Perform linear finite element static, transient, vibration, modal and direct frequency response, and response spectra analyses using Nastran and Abaqus.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below:
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
Bachelors of Science in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years applicable experience; or a Masters of Science in a STEM discipline with no experience.
Experience working in a structural analysis role.
Demonstrated skills communicating technical and/or programmatic ideas and information both to peers and up to engineering management and manufacturing customers.
Experience in performing a variety of classical and analysis software solution types, such as bolted joint and weld analyses.
US citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Work on site minimum of 3 days per week at selected site location.

Bachelors of Science in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years applicable experience; or a Masters of Science in a STEM discipline with 3 years applicable experience.
Experience working in a structural analysis role.
Demonstrated skills communicating technical and/or programmatic ideas and information both to peers and up to engineering management and manufacturing customers.
Experience in performing a variety of classical and analysis software solution types, such as bolted joint and weld analyses.
US citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Work on site minimum of 3 days per week at selected site location.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the following software tools: NX, Hypermesh, Nastran, Abaqus, Matlab. LS-DYNA.
Experience supporting a US government customer.
Engineering experience with complex systems, vehicles, or machinery.
Demonstrated skills/experience in the one or more of the following analysis areas: non-linear materials, thermal, fatigue, shock, and vibration.
