  • Self-scheduling: 6-week schedules

  • 12-hour shifts: 7:00 pm to 7:30 am

  • Every third weekend and 50% holiday rotation

Where you will work:

6 South Med/Surg/Oncology is a 34-bed inpatient unit that provides care to patients with Pneumonia, COPD Exacerbation, Pancreatitis, Acute Renal failure, post-op, and Oncology.  Become Chemo certified after 2 years.  In addition, 6 South has 4 beds designated to meet inpatient hospice to provide continuity of care for our patients as they transition to end of life care. This is a great opportunity to build your foundation in nursing, become certified in the specialty of Med/Surg and learn a variety of skills applicable to any area. 

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

  • New RN's and Experienced RN's WELCOME!

What You’ll Do:

  • Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.

  • Build skills in time management, triaging accountabilities, communication skills, pharmacology, lab interpretation, pathophysiology of disease process through a variety of med/surg patients with acute and chronic conditions.

  • Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi-disciplinary team.

  • Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.

  • Be a valued member of a highly skilled, resilient, and versatile nursing team committed to ensuring the delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare to diverse patient populations.
