5A/B Admissions/Holding Unit is a high volume, multispecialty unit that cares for a diverse patient population across numerous service lines. The variety of patients admitted to the unit provides nurses with broad clinical exposure and opportunities to develop a wealth of knowledge and skills. Due to the fast-paced environment and continuous patient throughput, nurses must possess strong critical thinking, prioritization, communication, and time management abilities to deliver safe and efficient patient care.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
BSN required (or related bachelor’s degree with 2 years of nursing experience); MSN preferred
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year for Adult Critical Care/ED (as applicable)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year for ED, PICU, NICU, and other designated areas (per unit guidelines)
Nationally recognized nursing specialty certification required within 1 year (as applicable)
Partner with the Nurse Manager to lead unit operations, support staff development, and drive high-quality, patient-centered care through performance standards, education, and shared governance
Foster a safe, collaborative care environment by coordinating across disciplines, supporting patient flow, resolving challenges, and ensuring best practices in clinical care delivery
