Monday, Wednesday & Friday (7:30am - 4pm)
Under the direction of the Laboratory Coordinator, Practice Manager and/or site Medical Director collects blood specimens using venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques; instructs patients in the collection of urine and other body fluids/specimens. Processes specimens correctly and tracks receipt of results. Under the direction of a qualified instructor, performs lab testing after documented training is established.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:
- Ability to perform venipuncture and capillary collection techniques proficiently and safely
- Attention to detail and effective organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of and adherence to universal precaution techniques and requirements
- Completion of a 12 week orientation period
- Command of verbal and written English
- Positive interpersonal communication skills
- Good organizational skills
Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training course required
License/Certification:
Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
