People Business Partner

The Challenge to Solve

Enable leaders across our North Macedonia operations to build high-performing, engaged teams by aligning people strategy with business priorities in a fast-growing global company.

The Role

This role is based in North Macedonia (Skopje, Ohrid or Debar) and works closely with leaders and employees across North Macedonia while partnering with colleagues across the US and Balkans. This is a fully onsite role, with working hours from 12pm - 8pm to support collaboration across time zones.

As a People Business Partner, you'll partner closely with leaders across our North Macedonia operations, helping them navigate the people challenges that come with growth. You'll translate business priorities into practical people actions that strengthen performance, engagement, and organizational health, while ensuring our global people programs are implemented effectively within the local legal and cultural context.

Key focus areas include:

  • Partnering with leaders across functions such as: Phone Operations, Account Management, Inside Sales, and Customer Support on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, and team health.
  • Coaching managers through performance management, employee relations, feedback conversations, and complex people decisions.
  • Supporting organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational change.
  • Translating business goals into people priorities and partnering cross-functionally to deliver effective people programs.
  • Ensuring people practices align with North Macedonian labor law and local employment requirements.
  • Using people data and employee feedback to identify trends, improve outcomes, and represent the voice of the Balkans region in global People discussions.

The Team

The People team at Slice is high-performing and mission-driven. You will report to the Director, People Partners and work closely with People colleagues across North Macedonia, Kosovo, UK and the United States.

The Winning Recipe

  • 5+ years of experience as a People Business Partner in a fast-paced or scaling environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of North Macedonian labor law and local employment practices.
  • Experience supporting leaders across Operations, GTM, Customer Support, or similar business functions.
  • Strong fundamentals across performance management, employee relations, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and leadership coaching.
  • Experience supporting teams through growth, change, and organizational evolution.
  • Strong organizational design and talent planning capabilities, including workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Experience leading core People programs, including performance reviews, compensation cycles, promotions, and talent reviews.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Data-informed approach to decision making and problem solving.
  • Prior experience working in a customer support or high-volume operations environment, ideally supporting large teams of customer service professionals.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with a high degree of ambiguity.
