Primary Responsibilities:
> The Automation Architect (Associate) will be part of the Agility & Strategic Intelligence team within the Morgan Stanley at Work organization.
> Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand manual processes, collect requirements, and convert them into automation-ready process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.
> Design, build, and support Python-led automation, workflow solutions along with Dataiku and approved enterprise low-code/no-code tooling.
> Build practical AI-enabled automations and low-code/no-code agents that improve operational efficiency while validating outputs and maintaining required controls.
> Apply prompt engineering techniques to create, test, refine, and document prompts for business workflows, knowledge retrieval, summarization, classification, and developer productivity use cases.
> Use AI productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot responsibly to accelerate coding, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting while owning the final output quality.
> Configure data transformations, validations, reconciliations, and exception handling for automation workflows using Python, SQL, or Dataiku where appropriate.
> Support end-to-end delivery for assigned tasks and small workstreams, including build, unit testing, UAT support, release readiness, production monitoring, and post-production support.
> Maintain clear documentation, reusable components, runbooks, SOPs, control evidence, and support handoffs.
> Coordinate with onshore/offshore stakeholders on project details, technical queries, blockers, and status updates.
> Analyze existing processes and tools to identify gaps and recommend improvements to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and strengthen controls.

The Associate Automation Specialist:
> Balances functional analysis and hands-on automation execution - able to move from requirement discovery to solution delivery for well-defined workstreams.
> Demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned deliverables while seeking guidance for complex design, risk, or control decisions.
> Comfortable learning new automation, AI, and low-code/no-code platforms and applying them to practical business Required Skillset
> 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in Python-led automation, data automation or software development; prior hands-on project delivery experience is required.
> Strong hands-on Python experience, including scripting, data processing, API integration, validation, troubleshooting, and reusable automation components.
> Working knowledge of Dataiku for data preparation, visual recipes, datasets, automation flows, or comparable data workflow platforms.
> Front-End/Web App Working Experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript): Implement basic UI changes, troubleshoot common front-end issues, and partner with developers/QA on enhancements and defect fixes.
> Able to independently implement straightforward UI changes, troubleshoot basic front-end issues, and collaborate with developers/QA on web app enhancements and defect fixes.
> Exposure to low-code/no-code workflow and agent-building tools with ability to design simple business agents, automations, and human-in-the-loop flows.
> Good prompt engineering skills: write clear prompts, define context, test edge cases, evaluate AI outputs, and improve reliability through iterative refinement.
> Basic AI/GenAI knowledge is mandatory, including understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations, hallucination risks, validation, responsible use, and data privacy.
> Ability to use AI-assisted developer tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity while reviewing, testing, and owning final outputs.
> Strong requirements gathering and process analysis skills with ability to create process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
> Understanding of SQL/database concepts, data mappings, data quality checks, reconciliations, and basic ETL/data integration patterns.
> Understanding of SDLC/Agile delivery, testing practices, version control basics, and production support fundamentals.
> Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
Strongly Desired Qualifications
> Experience supporting production Python automations, including incident triage, root cause analysis, monitoring, and preventive fixes.
> Operational knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Git/GitHub or Bitbucket, and basic CI/CD concepts.
> Experience with User Acceptance Testing, test data preparation, quality checks, and documentation of control evidence.
> Experience in financial services, employee benefit plans, stock plan/equity administration, or client/onboarding operations.
> Ability to coordinate with onshore and offshore teams and manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.

Preferred Skillsets
> Basic understanding of equity compensation and employee benefit plans.
> Working knowledge of OpenAI APIs or enterprise AI assistants were used within approved controls.
> Exposure to Automation, Copilot Studio, Power Apps, or similar low-code/no-code platforms.
> Experience with Power BI/Tableau or reporting dashboards.
> Familiarity with cloud/data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, or similar.
> Basic awareness of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements in automation and AI use cases.
> RPA skill, including Studio development, reusable workflows, selectors, queues, Orchestrator basics, exception handling, and deployment support.
Qualifications
> BE/BTech in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; Computer Science stream equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
> 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Python scripting, data workflow automation, automation, or low-code/no-code solution delivery.
> Practical experience with Python as the primary automation/programming skill and exposure to Dataiku, SQL, or similar automation/data tooling.
> Associate-level role requiring independent execution of assigned deliverables; people management or senior technical leadership experience is not required.
