About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) professional to join our team in a permanent full-time Audit & Compliance Advisor / Officer role.

In this role, you will support the delivery of our business protection and continuity strategy by ensuring compliance with EH&S legislation, standards, and internal requirements across a complex operational environment. You will work closely with leaders, employees, contractors, and EH&S representatives to promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a varied role combining operational EH&S support with strategic planning and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide EH&S advice, coaching, and support across the business
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Support contractor management and PCBU compliance obligations
  • Assist with the development and improvement of EH&S systems and programs
  • Deliver EH&S training and awareness initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, employees, contractors, and EH&S representatives

About You

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Lead Auditor certification
  • Preferably a recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Proven EH&S experience within a medium or large organisation
  • Experience with EH&S systems, auditing, investigations, and risk management
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • High attention to detail and strong IT literacy
  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
  • Experience in operational, production, engineering, or manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
