This is a senior leadership litigation role within a plaintiff-side employment law practice, focused on driving strategy, performance, and outcomes across complex legal matters.
You will oversee high-value litigation cases while shaping firm-wide litigation strategy and ensuring consistent execution across teams.
The role combines hands-on legal expertise with operational leadership, including team management, performance optimization, and process improvement.
You will work closely with senior leadership to guide case selection, negotiation strategy, and overall litigation direction.
A key part of the role involves mentoring attorneys, strengthening litigation capabilities, and building high-performing legal teams.
This position is ideal for an experienced litigator who combines strong courtroom and negotiation skills with a strategic, business-oriented mindset.
You will play a central role in improving efficiency, outcomes, and long-term litigation performance across the organization.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and oversee litigation strategy, case outcomes, and performance across the litigation team, ensuring strong results in complex employment law matters.
- Manage outside counsel relationships and coordinate external legal resources to support case execution and efficiency.
- Partner with senior leadership on case selection, litigation priorities, and performance metrics to align legal strategy with organizational goals.
- Drive settlement strategy and lead negotiations on high-value, complex employment disputes.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop attorneys and litigation staff to strengthen team capability and performance.
- Identify and implement operational and technology improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and case management processes.
Requirements:
- Active California Bar license in good standing.
- 7+ years of experience managing plaintiff-side employment litigation teams, practice groups, or law firm litigation functions.
- Proven success handling, negotiating, and resolving complex employment law disputes.
- Strong leadership experience with demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop legal professionals.
- Excellent litigation judgment combined with a strong operational and business mindset.
- Ability to oversee multiple high-stakes matters while maintaining quality, consistency, and strategic alignment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
