Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.
Alan exists to end the wait.
Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.
So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.
We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.
Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 800+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.
The Outbound crew builds and operates Alan's shared messaging platform (email, push, product notifications) across product and marketing teams. Its mission: provide paved roads so teams can ship messages safely, consistently, and at scale.
As Alan grew across France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada, the volume and complexity of outbound communications increased without a dedicated team. The Outbound platform exists — but it needs to be operated, not just built.
This role will sit in the BSO (Business Strategy & Operations) team and work day-to-day within the Outbound crew (Product Platform). The Outbound crew is composed of 3 Engineers, 1 Product/Researcher, and 1 Marketing Ops (this role), organized around 4 pillars: Messaging Stack Governance & Automation, Enablement & Evangelisation, Lifecycle & Data Standards, and Communication Pressure & Quality.
Why is this role interesting?
Messaging is one of Alan's primary touchpoints with members, admins, and prospects — and one of our highest-leverage surfaces for engagement, retention, and trust. Today, the Outbound platform underdelivers on its potential: nobody operates it strategically.
Speed: product and marketing teams ship messages confidently without queuing behind engineers, turning Outbound from a bottleneck into a force multiplier across every crew
Trust: clean data, governed attributes, and enforced channel rules mean members get the right message at the right time
Scale: as we grow to millions of members across 6 countries (and more), we need an operator who keeps the platform clean and the user experience protected without scaling the team linearly
What will you do with us?
You'll be the operator of Alan's messaging stack — the person who turns messaging into a service the whole product and marketing org can rely on. You'll think in campaign terms, treat governance as a sustained practice, and progressively remove engineering tickets from the path of shipping a message.
Concretely, you'll own:
A strategic partner for product, marketing, and growth: co-own outbound messaging strategy with PMMs, marketers, and product teams; set and enforce the messaging quality bar; represent Outbound in cross-area strategy discussions and partner with Growth on shared tooling
User management, routing, and lifecycle definitions: recipient lifecycle stages and segmentation logic; volume, frequency, and complaint monitoring across campaigns and back-end emails; channel rule and unsubscribe workflow oversight
The messaging stack: automation, data standards, and hygiene: Customer.io ownership (contractualization, access management, automations, campaign lifecycle); back-end triggered email governance; data model integrity (attribute and event registry, sync quality); workspace health for 1.7M profiles and 832 attributes
Documentation, training, and evangelisation: creation of the messaging playbook; onboarding and training for crews shipping messages; Design Studio adoption to 100%; best-practice evangelisation across product, marketing, and growth
By your first year, we expect:
A trusted messaging stack where Customer.io and back-end emails operate as one clean, governed system
A self-serve platform where any Alaner can ship a message without queuing behind an engineer
A clear lifecycle where every recipient has a documented path and new attributes flow through a governance loop
Reduced communication pressure so we know how often we're reaching members and can step in before they're overwhelmed
A real bridge between Marketing and Acquisition teams and the Outbound platform
You'll be a great fit for this role if you:
Have 5+ years in PMM, marketing ops, CRM ops, lifecycle marketing, or growth ops in a tech environment
Have a product knack: can define what is not working for our users, see what we should build next, and turn problems into opportunities to deliver more value
Have hands-on experience with messaging platforms at scale (Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, Marketo, HubSpot, or equivalent)
Have a strong grasp of CRM data models — attribute/event design and data hygiene as a sustained practice
Can design and maintain lifecycle, routing, segmentation, and re-engagement flows across multiple domains
Have strong stakeholder management skills — this person will interface with all product and marketing teams
Bring analytical rigor: reads platform and campaign data, surfaces anomalies, prioritizes from data
Communicate with excellent written and spoken English
